On 9 March 2022, Henri Kox, Minister for Housing and Internal Security, welcomed the new Ambassador of the United States of America, Thomas M. Barrett, to his ministry.
Thomas M. Barrett, a native of Wisconsin, a state with many historical ties to Luxembourg, and Henri Kox exchanged views on, among other things, the current situation in Ukraine, as well as the security situation in the Grand Duchy and the plans of the Ministry of Internal Security, including the massive recruitment of the Grand Ducal Police. The exchange of views also covered the housing situation in Luxembourg, in particular rental and sales prices.
In conclusion, they both expressed their willingness to further strengthen the relationship between the United States and Luxembourg.
